Southeast Wisconsin
Design-build remodeling in New Berlin.
Monarch designs residential projects in New Berlin — whole-home remodels, kitchens, bathrooms, additions and accessory dwellings — and coordinates each through construction as one project rather than a series of separate trades.
Building in New Berlin
What projects here involve.
New Berlin charges plan examination for a house at a flat $300 up to 3,000 square feet, then $300 plus $0.10 per square foot above that. For comparison, the City of Waukesha reviews a residential addition for $145. It is the same drawing set and roughly double the review fee, which is worth knowing before you assume permit costs are broadly similar across the county.
The city's own fee report disagrees with itself on additions: its summary table says $0.46 per square foot while its adopted code schedule says $0.44. We publish both rather than pick one, and confirm the rate with the city on a live project. Alterations are $0.44 per square foot with a $160 minimum plus a $60 charge, and additions add $120 — the add-on is easy to miss when comparing a rate alone.
