Southeast Wisconsin
Design-build remodeling in Waukesha.
Monarch designs residential projects in Waukesha — whole-home remodels, kitchens, bathrooms, additions and accessory dwellings — and coordinates each through construction as one project rather than a series of separate trades.
Building in Waukesha
What projects here involve.
The City of Waukesha does not require a permit to re-roof or re-side a one- or two-family house with no structural changes, or to replace a window or door without changing the size of the existing opening. The same work on a multi-family or commercial building is charged by valuation, at $14 per $1,000 with a maximum fee of $305.
An addition here cannot be started on the foundation while the rest of the drawings are still in review. The city offers an Early Start footing and foundation permit for commercial and multi-family work at $305, and expressly does not allow it for one- and two-family houses. Plan examination for a residential addition is $145, and the building permit is $0.41 per square foot.
